Modern connectivity and OEM-fit integration for 1998–2013 Harley-Davidson® batwing Touring.
The SoundStream Reserve SG.V2 is an 8.2-inch multimedia head unit built specifically for 1998–2013 Harley-Davidson® Street Glide, Electra Glide, Ultra Classic, Ultra Limited, and Tri Glide models. Wireless Apple CarPlay®, wireless Android Auto®, iDataLink® Maestro® RR2 vehicle integration, built-in GPS navigation, wireless Bluetooth headset audio without a WHIM module, and Rally Mode™ group ride broadcasting — all in a single IPx5 water-resistant receiver that mounts in the factory batwing fairing location using OEM hardware, with no cutting or fabrication required.
Replacing the OEM head unit on an early batwing Touring bike shouldn't mean settling for a generic aftermarket fit. The SoundStream Reserve SG.V2 is engineered specifically for the 1998–2013 batwing fairing architecture — plug-and-play installation, OEM AM/FM antenna compatibility, full handlebar control retention with gauges and advanced thumb functions available through the Maestro® RR2 integration — with every feature a Harley touring rider actually needs, built in from the start.
Who This Is For
Riders on 1998–2013 Harley-Davidson® Street Glide and batwing Touring models who want modern smartphone integration, a large bright display, and clean OEM-style fitment — without modifying the fairing or losing factory functionality. Particularly suited to riders who use iPhone or Android, want wireless Bluetooth comms for both rider and passenger without a separate WHIM module, and want real-time engine data on screen through the Maestro® RR2.
What This Is Best For
Daily riding and weekend touring — Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto connect automatically the moment you're on the bike. Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, Spotify, calls, and messages are accessible via touchscreen or OEM handlebar controls retained through the Maestro® RR2 integration.
Navigation — The 1000 NIT display stays readable in direct sunlight at highway speeds. Built-in iGo Primo® GPS with the included magnetic mount antenna operates independently of mobile coverage for remote-area navigation. For most Australian riders, Apple Maps or Google Maps via CarPlay or Android Auto is the more current and practical day-to-day solution — the built-in GPS is there when mobile coverage isn't.
Two-up riding — Pair up to two Bluetooth headsets wirelessly — rider and passenger — without a WHIM module. Configure the headsets to receive GPS navigation prompts, music, or both, so you're not fighting navigation call-outs over the music at volume.
Group rides — Rally Mode™ broadcasts your playlist to up to 300 riders within 100 metres (330 feet). The whole group rides to the same stream. Perfect for club runs, touring groups, and charity events.
Riders monitoring engine health (2009–2013) — With an iDataLink® Maestro® RR2 module connected, the SG.V2 displays up to 10 real-time digital gauges from 40+ available parameters — subject to the data available from your specific bike — and provides pop-up alerts for oil pressure, fuel level, engine temperature, and more, all on the main screen.
Fitment
The SoundStream Reserve SG.V2 is a direct OEM-replacement head unit for 1998–2013 Harley-Davidson® batwing Touring motorcycles. It mounts in the factory head unit location using OEM mounting hardware — no brackets, no trim rings, no cutting. The SG.V2 uses the OEM AM/FM radio antenna with no adapters required, and includes a 26-inch (66 cm) USB cable with both Type-A and Type-C connectors, which can be routed to either side of the fairing. A magnetic mount GPS antenna is included.
Maestro® RR2 integration for digital gauges and advanced thumb control is available on 2009–2013 models only. The SG.V2 installs and operates fully on 1998–2008 models — CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS, headsets, and Rally Mode™ all function — but CAN bus gauge integration is not available for pre-2009 bikes.
| Model | Year Range | Maestro® RR2 Gauges |
|---|---|---|
| Street Glide (FLHX) | 1998–2013 | 2009–2013 only |
| Electra Glide | 1998–2013 | 2009–2013 only |
| Ultra Classic | 1998–2013 | 2009–2013 only |
| Ultra Limited | 2011–2013 | 2011–2013 only |
| Tri Glide | 2009–2013 | 2009–2013 only |
| CVO Street Glide | 2009–2013 | 2009–2013 only — see note |
| CVO Electra Glide | 2009–2013 | 2009–2013 only — see note |
Some 1998–2013 Street Glide, Electra Glide, and Ultra CVO models are fitted with MTX-branded speakers and amplifiers, or have no factory amplifier at all. These bikes are fully plug-and-play compatible with the SG.V2, and MTX amplifiers can be retained.
However, many CVO and Ultra models — and some non-CVO bikes where an amplifier has been added aftermarket — use a Harman/Kardon amplifier. Harman amplifiers cannot be retained when installing the SG.V2 and must be replaced and rewired. Check your amplifier brand before ordering.
Additional notes: The SG.V2 does not retain CB radio. Gauge functionality via Maestro® RR2 will not work on 2009–2013 motorcycles fitted with a ThunderMax ECM.
If you are unsure about your bike's amplifier configuration or ECM, contact Motorcycle Audio Australia before ordering and we'll confirm compatibility and recommend the right upgrade path.
Note: Digital gauge display, pop-up warnings, and advanced thumb control programming require an iDataLink® Maestro® RR2 module, available separately from MAA (2009–2013 models only). The SG.V2 operates fully without it — CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS, headsets, and Rally Mode™ all work independently — but handlebar controls will run in basic mode and CAN bus integration will not be available. Contact MAA if you're unsure which module suits your bike.
Supplied and Supported by Motorcycle Audio Australia

MAA pre-configure all Maestro® RR2 modules before shipping, matched to your specific Harley model, so the integration is ready to go from the start. Our team provides local technical support for your complete audio build — you're not chasing an overseas supplier if something needs attention.

The SoundStream Reserve SG.V2 is backed by a 5-year warranty when purchased through Motorcycle Audio Australia. Support is handled locally across Australia and New Zealand.
The Bottom Line
The SoundStream Reserve SG.V2 is the definitive OEM-fit multimedia upgrade for 1998–2013 Harley batwing Touring. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, real-time Maestro® RR2 vehicle data (2009–2013), a daylight-readable 1000 NIT display, wireless Bluetooth headsets without a WHIM module, Rally Mode™ for up to 300 riders, and a 200W Class-D amplifier with 5V RCA outputs — factory fit, 5-year warranty, local support.
Features
Wireless Apple CarPlay® — Full iPhone Integration Without Cables
Apple CarPlay® on the SoundStream Reserve SG.V2 connects wirelessly — no cable required, no cable to damage from vibration or weather. Once your iPhone is paired, it connects automatically each time you ride. The 8.2-inch display becomes an extension of your iPhone: Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, Spotify, Apple Music, podcasts, calls, and messages all appear in the CarPlay interface, designed for easy viewing and single-glance operation. Control everything via touchscreen or via the OEM handlebar controls — your eyes and hands stay on the road where they belong. Siri® responds to voice commands for fully hands-free operation at speed.
Wireless Android Auto® — Google Assistant and Full Android Integration
Android Auto® connects wirelessly and brings your Android apps to the SG.V2's screen with no cable needed. Google Maps, Waze, Spotify, and messaging apps are all accessible from the display or via voice. Google Assistant handles natural voice commands — ask for directions, send a message, check the weather, or find the nearest fuel stop without taking your hands off the bars. Real-time traffic data through Waze or Google Maps keeps you on the fastest route, displayed clearly on the 8.2-inch screen.
8.2" Quantum QLCD — 1000 NIT Ultra-Bright Touchscreen
The 8.2-inch widescreen LCD touchscreen runs at 1000 NITs — bright enough to remain clear in harsh Australian sunlight, with wide viewing angles and fast touch response. Maps, gauges, and menus are easy to read at a glance without needing to lean in. The larger-than-OEM screen makes a genuine difference on long rides where you're checking navigation frequently. Night brightness adjusts automatically so the display doesn't blind after dark.
iDataLink® Maestro® RR2 Integration — Gauges, Controls, and Amplifiers (2009–2013)
With an iDataLink® Maestro® RR2 module connected (sold separately, compatible with 2009–2013 models), the SoundStream Reserve SG.V2 gains full two-way communication with the Harley's CAN bus. Up to 10 real-time digital gauges are displayed on screen — choose from more than 40 available parameters including oil pressure, engine temperature, gear position, battery voltage, fuel level, and more, subject to the data available from your specific bike. Pop-up alerts notify you of critical readings without needing to watch the gauge screen continuously. OEM handlebar thumb controls are retained and fully programmable for scrolling, selecting, and adjusting playback and settings — including press-and-hold functions not available in basic mode. The SG.V2 also retains MTX-branded OEM amplifiers on CVO and Ultra models where fitted. The wiring harness is pre-configured for Maestro® RR2 connection.
Note: gauge functionality via Maestro® RR2 is not available on bikes fitted with a ThunderMax ECM.
Built-in GPS Navigation — iGo Primo® with Offline Capability
The SG.V2 includes iGo Primo® GPS navigation, which operates independently of mobile coverage — useful when riding in areas where data is unreliable or unavailable. A magnetic mount GPS antenna is included with the unit. Note that Australian maps are not pre-loaded; maps and points of interest for Australia are available for purchase and annual update through Naviextras.com.
For most Australian riders, Apple Maps or Google Maps via wireless CarPlay or Android Auto provides a more current, more detailed, and more practical navigation experience. The built-in iGo system is the backup when your phone isn't an option.
Wireless Headset Integration — Rider and Passenger Audio, No WHIM Required
The Reserve SG.V2 connects directly to OEM and aftermarket Bluetooth® headsets and helmets without a Harley WHIM module — simplifying installation and removing a common point of failure. Pair up to two headsets simultaneously, covering both rider and passenger. Configure the headsets to receive GPS navigation prompts, music, or both — so you're not fighting navigation call-outs over the music at volume. Particularly useful on long two-up touring rides.
Rally Mode™ — Group Ride Broadcasting for Up to 300 Riders
Rally Mode™ turns the Reserve SG.V2 into a broadcast hub for your group ride. Stream your playlist to up to 300 riders within 100 metres (330 feet) — all riding to the same music simultaneously. Riders with Rally Mode-equipped head units or accessories pair to the principal broadcaster's stream; the broadcaster controls the music, paired riders listen in. There's no limit on the number of users who can pair to a single broadcaster — Rally Mode's architecture is designed for large groups, not just pairs.
Audio Performance — 200W Class-D with Full DSP
The SG.V2 is built for proper motorcycle audio system performance. The built-in 200W peak 4-channel Class-D amplifier is 2-ohm stable — enough clean power to drive high-performance fairing and bag speakers directly, or to serve as a head unit in a multi-amplifier build. Five-volt RCA outputs for front, rear, and subwoofer channels give downstream amplifiers more signal to work with, reducing noise at high volume. The 15-band digital equaliser includes preset and custom settings. High-pass crossovers operate independently for front and rear channels; low-pass and subsonic crossovers cover the subwoofer RCA output.
Rear Camera Input
An RCA video input with 12V trigger support and an on-screen shortcut allows connection of an aftermarket rear-view or reverse camera. The camera feed displays on the SG.V2's 8.2-inch screen, triggered automatically on reverse or manually via the shortcut. Pairs directly with the HD Vision V2 rear camera for a clean, integrated solution.
Bluetooth® Audio
Independent of CarPlay and Android Auto, the Reserve SG.V2 supports standard Bluetooth® audio streaming, playback control, and hands-free calling. Stream music or take calls over a direct Bluetooth® connection when a full CarPlay or Android Auto session isn't needed.
IPx5 Water Resistance
The SG.V2's faceplate is rated IPx5 — protected against direct water spray from any direction. Built for long-term use in real riding conditions: rain, dust, and wash-downs included.
SiriusXM® Ready
The Reserve SG.V2 is hardware-ready for the SiriusXM® SXV300 vehicle connect tuner (sold separately). SiriusXM® satellite radio services are not available in Australia, but the capability is present for riders who spend time in North America.
