A complete four-speaker audio upgrade for the 1998 – 2013 Road Glide® Ultra
This Rockford Fosgate kit is a 50 watt, four-speaker audio system built for select 1998 – 2013 Harley-Davidson® Road Glide Ultra (FLTRU) models. It includes the PMX-HD9813 digital media receiver, a pair of TMS6RG 6.5 inch fairing speakers with a Road Glide grille and a pair of TMS5 5.25 inch Tour-Pak® speakers. The receiver has a built-in amplifier that powers the fairing speakers, the kit runs on the existing factory system for power and speaker wiring, and it bolts to factory attachment points with no drilling or cutting.
This is a matched kit rather than a parts list. Receiver, fairing pair and Tour-Pak pair are supplied together with direct connect wiring harnesses for Harley-Davidson models, so the job is installation rather than sourcing components. Because the source unit carries the amplification, there is no separate amp to mount.
Who This Is For
You ride a 1998 – 2013 Road Glide Ultra, the factory radio and speakers have had their day, and you want a modern source unit driving a front and rear stage without adding an external amplifier. If you want a larger system on the same bike, the six-speaker Road Glide Ultra kit with amplifier is the step up. If you want the fairing pair only, the two-speaker Road Glide kit covers the front, and if your speakers are already sorted, the digital media receiver on its own is the smaller step.
What This Is Best For
- A front and rear stage in one purchase. Receiver, 6.5 inch fairing speakers and 5.25 inch Tour-Pak speakers are supplied together and designed to be fitted as a set.
- Keeping the install simple. The system uses the existing factory wiring for power and speakers, bolts to factory attachment points and needs no drilling or cutting.
- Volume that holds at highway speed. The 6.5 inch fairing speakers are frequency-response tuned to overcome wind, exhaust and road noise up to 75 mph (120 km/h).
- Modern sources with proper control. The PMX-HD9813 adds Bluetooth® wireless streaming, USB and AUX inputs, Pandora® and an AM/FM digital tuner, and radio integration supports front and rear fader control.
Check what your bike is fitted with before ordering
This kit is not compatible with factory amplified systems, CB, intercom, rear volume controls, rear speakers on 1998 – 2005 Ultra models, or factory equipped satellite radio systems. Rockford Fosgate publish a compatibility chart for these kits, and it is worth checking your build against it before you order. The receiver is SiriusXM® Ready, though SiriusXM is not available in Australia. If you are unsure what your bike has, tell us the model and year and we will check it for you.
What is in the kit
The PMX-HD9813 digital media receiver is the source and the amplification: a direct replacement for the 1998 – 2013 Harley-Davidson radio with Bluetooth wireless streaming, USB and AUX inputs, Pandora and an AM/FM digital tuner that is SiriusXM Ready, plus radio integration that supports front and rear fader control. The TMS6RG fairing speakers are 6.5 inch two-way Element Ready™ drivers with a phase-aligned 25 mm tweeter and a Road Glide grille, frequency-response tuned for highway speeds. The TMS5 Tour-Pak speakers are 5.25 inch Power full range drivers for 1998 – 2013 Harley-Davidson models, filling in the rear of the stage. On the road: the fairing pair is tuned to overcome wind, exhaust and road noise, so the music still carries at highway speed instead of disappearing into the wind.
