The Alloy Art SAB-1 Strong Arm Inner Fairing Brackets are a direct OEM replacement for 1996 to 2013 Harley-Davidson® Touring models, built to carry the weight of aftermarket speakers and amplifiers that the factory brackets were never designed to support. Moulded from high-impact nylon in a pocketed, ribbed design, they are stiffer than stock where it counts and lighter than it. Direct replacement for OEM 58478-96 and 58479-96, sold as a pair, made in the USA.
The factory brackets were sized for the OEM speakers. Fit heavier aftermarket drivers or mount an amplifier in the fairing and they flex, which creates the vibration and rattle that follows you down the highway. The SAB-1 removes that flex.
Who This Is For
You are upgrading the fairing audio on a 1996 to 2013 Touring bike with heavier aftermarket speakers or an in-fairing amplifier, and you want the structure to hold them without rattle. The SAB-1 is the foundation part for that upgrade, and the direct fix if fairing rattle has appeared after a speaker install. Fit it alongside heavier 6.5 inch fairing speakers such as the Velocity RZ65H. If your chosen speakers are also deeper or wider than the factory opening allows, fit the Alloy Art Strong Arm II alongside them – see the note below.
What This Is Best For
- Carrying aftermarket weight. Heavier drivers and in-fairing amplifiers load the brackets, and the SAB-1 is built for that load where the factory part is not, eliminating the flex that causes rattle.
- Rigidity without mass. The pocketed, ribbed structure spreads load across the bracket rather than concentrating stress at the mounting points, giving stiffness at lower weight than OEM.
- Quieter fairings at speed. More bracket rigidity reduces the micro-movement that turns into vibration noise inside the fairing on the highway.
- A direct, no-modification swap. Replaces OEM 58478-96 and 58479-96 and drops straight in with no cutting or drilling.
SAB-1, Strong Arm II, or both
These are not an either/or choice. Either set works on its own, and both can be fitted together – which is what we generally recommend, because the fairing only has to come off once and the two sets do different jobs. The SAB-1 is the stronger, lighter direct replacement for the factory brackets. The Strong Arm II adds the extra width and depth that larger or deeper aftermarket drivers need in order to clear. Confirm your OEM part numbers
The SAB-1 replaces OEM 58478-96 and 58479-96 on 1996 to 2013 Electra Glide® and Ultra models, and 2006 to 2013 Street Glide®. Because fairing bracket part numbers vary across this long model run, confirm your OEM part numbers against your specific bike before ordering. If you are upgrading the audio, upgrade the brackets at the same time to avoid rattle developing later.

Why the ribbed design
The pocketed, ribbed high-impact nylon construction uses the same principle as structural engineering: ribs and pockets distribute load and add stiffness without adding mass. That is how the SAB-1 is both stronger and lighter than the factory bracket it replaces. On the road: the fairing holds heavier audio hardware still, so vibration noise that comes from bracket flex does not develop.
