The advanced Bluetooth CANBUS interface that unlocks digital gauges on a Harley aftermarket head unit
The iDataLink Maestro RR2 is an advanced CANBUS integration module for modern Harley-Davidson Touring bikes running an aftermarket head unit. Beyond the core radio integration of the standard Maestro RR, the RR2 unlocks digital gauges, expanded thumb-control functions, programmable accessory outputs and radar-detector integration, and it flashes and updates wirelessly over Bluetooth. For a premium head unit install, the RR2 is the module that makes everything talk.
This is the step up from the standard Maestro RR. Both give correct radio integration and retain handlebar controls; the RR2 adds vehicle data, more control mapping, accessory outputs and wireless setup.
Who This Is For
You are installing a premium aftermarket head unit on a Harley Touring bike and want more than basic integration: live engine data on screen, expanded thumb controls, and accessory outputs. The RR2 delivers that with a compatible unit such as the SoundStream V2 or WHD14+. If you only need core radio integration and factory controls, the standard Maestro RR covers that at a lower cost.
What This Is Best For
- Digital gauges on your head unit. The RR2 unlocks over 40 digital gauges, including oil pressure, voltage, temperatures and fuel level, with up to 10 shown at once on supported units.
- Expanded thumb controls. It roughly doubles available functions with secondary press and hold actions mapped to the factory bar controls.
- Accessory and safety integration. Three programmable outputs drive relay-based accessories such as lights or fans, and a dedicated port supports Escort radar-detector integration.
- Wireless setup. Bluetooth flashing and updates from an iOS or Android phone mean no laptop is needed to load profiles, update firmware or set control behaviour.
Maestro RR2 or RR
Both modules give correct CANBUS radio integration and retain factory handlebar controls. Step up to the RR2 when you want digital gauges, pop-up vehicle alerts, expanded thumb controls, programmable accessory outputs or radar-detector integration, plus wireless Bluetooth setup. The standard Maestro RR is the right choice when you only need core radio integration and controls. MAA can pre-program either module for your bike and radio.
The Bottom Line
The iDataLink Maestro RR2 is the advanced interface for a premium Harley head unit install, adding digital gauges, expanded controls, accessory outputs and wireless Bluetooth setup on top of core radio integration. Add it to cart above with a compatible head unit such as the SoundStream V2. For core integration only, the Maestro RR is the simpler option.
Fitment
| Models | Radios | Years |
|---|---|---|
| Harley Touring (Street Glide®, Road Glide®, Ultra Limited®, Electra Glide®, Tri Glide® Ultra) | SoundStream and other Maestro-compatible head units | 2014 and newer |
What the RR2 adds
The module sits between the aftermarket radio and the Harley network and translates CANBUS data, the same core job as the standard RR. On top of that it exposes vehicle data as digital gauges, expanded thumb-control mapping, three programmable accessory outputs and a radar-detector port. In practice: the aftermarket system behaves like a factory-integrated radio, with real-time bike data and far more capability.
Programming and setup
The RR2 flashes wirelessly. Load your vehicle profile, update firmware and set thumb-control behaviour from an iOS or Android phone over Bluetooth, with a mini-USB option also available. MAA pre-programs modules for customers wherever possible.
