The 8-inch flat wave guide. Maximum horn output for Tour-Pak and large-format builds.
The Cicada Audio RR3WG-8F is an 8-inch flat horn acoustic wave guide for the RR2TM and RR3TM compression motors — the largest-format wave guide in the Cicada horn system, built for Tour-Pak lids, large custom enclosures, and any build where maximum horn mouth area and highest SPL projection are the priority. UV-stable all-weather composite construction. Nanofram™ compatible. Sold as a pair. Motor not included.
The RR3WG-8F is the top of the Cicada Acoustic Wave Guide range in terms of mouth area and acoustic loading. A larger horn mouth means more efficient acoustic loading of the compression motor, more output per watt from the same RR2TM or RR3TM motor, and greater long-distance throw. For builds where the mounting position can accept an 8-inch footprint — Tour-Pak lids, large custom pods, or bespoke enclosures — the RR3WG-8F delivers the highest output of any wave guide in the system.
Who This Is For
Riders building an 8-inch horn stage in a Tour-Pak lid, a large custom enclosure, or any position where the 6×9 format under-delivers on output and the mounting space allows a larger footprint. For 6×9 saddlebag lid positions, the RR3WG-69F flat is the correct format.
What This Is Best For
- Tour-Pak lid horn builds — the 8-inch format fits Tour-Pak lid positions on Touring models with custom lid hardware; delivers maximum horn output from the rear of the bike.
- Large custom pod and bespoke enclosure builds — for fabricated enclosures and custom speaker pods sized for 8-inch horn integration.
- Competition builds chasing maximum SPL — the largest horn mouth in the Cicada system; pairs with the RR3TM neo motor for the highest output combination available.
Waveguide only — motor required separately.
The RR3WG-8F is an acoustic wave guide. A compression motor — RR2TM (ferrite) or RR3TM (neo) — is required and sold separately. For 6×9 saddlebag lid positions, see the RR3WG-69F flat.
The Bottom Line
The 8-inch flat wave guide — maximum horn mouth, maximum SPL projection from the Cicada compression motor system. Tour-Pak, large custom enclosures, competition builds. All-weather composite. Nanofram™ compatible. Sold as a pair. Motor sold separately.

What's Inside the RR3WG-8F
The RR3WG-8F uses the same motor throat and acoustic loading principle as all RR3WG-* wave guides — the compression motor mounts at the throat, and the horn expands and directs the acoustic energy — but the 8-inch mouth delivers the highest acoustic loading and the most efficient energy transfer in the range. More mouth area means more horn effect: the motor works more efficiently, output is higher at the same power, and long-distance throw increases.
The waveguide is constructed from UV-stable, moisture-resistant composite for continuous outdoor and powersports exposure. Smooth internal flare for low-distortion acoustic path. Nanofram™ compatible. Stainless steel mounting hardware included. Flat face design delivers wide horizontal dispersion with controlled vertical directivity for broad-coverage builds in Tour-Pak and large pod positions.
