The 6×9-inch flat acoustic wave guide. Maximum projection for RR2TM and RR3TM horn builds.
The Cicada Audio RR3WG-69F is a 6×9-inch flat horn acoustic wave guide for the RR2TM and RR3TM compression motors — the largest-mouth 6×9 format in the Cicada horn system, delivering maximum forward throw, highest efficiency, and the widest soundstage of the flat-profile 6×9 range. UV-stable all-weather composite construction. Nanofram™ compatible. Sold as a pair. Motor not included.
The RR3WG-69F is the full-size 6×9 flat horn in the Cicada Acoustic Wave Guide range. Where the RR3WG-69S trades mouth area for shallow mounting depth and the RR3WG-69A adds a built-in directional angle, the RR3WG-69F maximises the horn mouth opening for the 6×9 format — more acoustic loading, more efficiency, and more forward output than the shallow or angled variants. Paired with an RR2TM or RR3TM motor, this waveguide turns a compression driver into a focused, high-SPL horn stage capable of projecting clearly at highway speeds from saddlebag lid or custom mounting positions.
Who This Is For
Riders building a full-size 6×9 horn stage in a saddlebag lid, Tour-Pak, or custom 6×9 enclosure position — where mounting depth is not a constraint and maximum forward output is the goal. For tight-clearance saddlebag builds, the RR3WG-69S is the shallow alternative. For directional aiming toward the rider, the RR3WG-69A adds a built-in angle. For fairing and pod positions, the RR3WG-65F is the compact 6.5-inch option.
What This Is Best For
- Saddlebag lid horn stage on 2014–2023 or 2024+ Harley Touring models — drops into 6×9 saddlebag lid positions with standard mounting hardware; delivers the highest output of the 6×9 wave guide variants from the same motor.
- Tour-Pak lid builds with 6×9 openings — provides maximum horn loading and front-throw from Tour-Pak lid positions where full mounting depth is available.
- Complete RR2TM or RR3TM horn system build — the RR3WG-69F is the default 6×9 waveguide for riders who want maximum system output from their compression motor investment.
- Nanofram™ integration builds — fully compatible with the Cicada Nanofram™ horn cover for protection and clean finished appearance.
Waveguide only — motor required separately.
The RR3WG-69F is an acoustic wave guide. A compression motor — RR2TM (2-inch ferrite) or RR3TM (3-inch neo) — is required and sold separately. For tight-clearance mounting positions, see the RR3WG-69S (shallow) or RR3WG-69A (angled).
The Bottom Line
The 6×9 flat waveguide for maximum projection with the RR2TM or RR3TM. Full-size horn mouth, widest soundstage, highest throw in the 6×9 format. All-weather composite. Nanofram™ compatible. Sold as a pair. Motor sold separately.
Ready to build? Add to cart above. For the motor, see the RR2TM (ferrite) or RR3TM (neo). For the shallow 6×9, see the RR3WG-69S.
What's Inside the RR3WG-69F
The RR3WG-69F is a horn waveguide — a shaped acoustic path, not a driver. The compression motor (RR2TM or RR3TM) mounts at the throat of the waveguide; the horn flare then expands the acoustic energy outward, controlling dispersion and increasing efficiency through the acoustic loading effect. The larger the horn mouth area, the more acoustic loading and the more efficient the energy transfer — the RR3WG-69F's full 6×9 mouth maximises this effect in the 6×9 series.
The waveguide is constructed from UV-stable, moisture-resistant composite rated for continuous outdoor and powersports exposure. The internal flare profile is smooth-contoured for low-distortion acoustic path efficiency — minimising turbulence and boundary reflections that would degrade output clarity at high SPL. Nanofram™ compatibility allows the Cicada Nanofram™ horn cover to be fitted over the completed motor/waveguide assembly for additional environmental protection and a clean, finished appearance.
Wave Guide Comparison — Choosing the Right 6×9 Format
All three 6×9 wave guides are compatible with both the RR2TM and RR3TM. The choice depends on mounting clearance and directional requirements:
- RR3WG-69F (this product) — full-size 6×9 flat. Maximum horn mouth, maximum output, maximum soundstage. Standard mounting depth required.
- RR3WG-69S — 6×9 shallow. Reduced mounting depth for tight saddlebag clearance. Output is slightly lower than the flat variant but still significantly ahead of dome tweeters.
- RR3WG-69A — 6×9 angled. Built-in directional angle aims the horn mouth toward the rider from the saddlebag lid position — best for builds where the horn exit otherwise points away from the listening position.
