Amplifiers – Trike Touring
Amplifiers for the Harley-Davidson Tri Glide® Ultra and Freewheeler®
Trike amplifiers in this collection connect by the same platform rules as the equivalent two-wheel Touring bikes, which means the year and audio system decide the wiring. Pre-2014 trikes output an analogue speaker-level signal that an amplifier reads through a high-level input. Models from 2014 to 2023 typically connect using the factory speaker-level outputs, either directly into an amplifier with high-level inputs or through a suitable integration harness where required. Models from 2024 with Skyline OS use A2B digital audio, so they need a compatible A2B interface, such as the NAV-TV ZEN-H, before an amplifier can connect.
The Tri Glide® Ultra is a faired batwing trike, so its amplifier install mirrors a batwing Touring bike of the same year. The Freewheeler® is unfaired, so plan its audio around its own layout. On any trike, weigh the extra electrical load and plan the power, ground and charging so a higher-output amplifier holds voltage under sustained use.
Why You'll Love It
- The full power range: compact amps such as the Cicada FLX500.4 and Precision Power MAA4.400 through to the FLX2000.4, plus SounDigital EVO PS and Hertz options and mono subwoofer amps to the Cicada BFA5000.1.
- Correct connection for the year: analogue high-level on pre-2014, high-level inputs or an integration harness on 2014 to 2023, and a compatible A2B interface such as the NAV-TV ZEN-H on 2024 and newer Skyline OS trikes.
- Four-channel, two-channel and mono: a matched amp for a front stage, a full system or a dedicated sub.
- Brands proven on Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycles: Cicada Audio, Hertz, SounDigital and Precision Power, chosen for their fit and reliability on Touring builds.
- Charging-aware selection: guidance on power, ground and charging for the added electrical load of a trike audio build.
FAQ
How does an amplifier connect on a Tri Glide?
By model year, like a two-wheel batwing. Pre-2014 uses an analogue high-level signal, 2014 to 2023 connects via the factory speaker-level outputs into high-level inputs, or an integration harness where required, and 2024 and newer Skyline OS models need a compatible A2B interface such as the NAV-TV ZEN-H first. Tell us your year and we will confirm.
Is the Freewheeler wired the same as the Tri Glide?
The signal-path rules follow the model year the same way, but the Freewheeler is unfaired, so its speaker layout and mounting differ from the faired Tri Glide Ultra. Plan its audio around its own body.
Do trikes need a charging upgrade for audio?
A trike carries extra electrical load, so a higher-output amplifier build should include a power and ground upgrade and a charging review. A lithium battery alone does not increase stator output, so plan the charging to suit the draw.
How many channels do I need?
A four-channel amp runs front and rear pairs. A two-channel runs one stereo pair, or both channels bridged into one mono load. A monoblock is for a subwoofer.
