How do you upgrade the audio on a Harley-Davidson trike?
Read the Road Glide 3 audio guide or the Tri Glide Ultra audio guide for your platform.
2009 to 2013: Advanced Audio
The Tri Glide® Ultra Classic and the 2010–2011 Street Glide® Trike run Harley's Advanced Audio system, before Boom! Box. The integration path differs from everything that followed, so these are usually planned as a build rather than picked off a shelf. See Harley Trike Audio 2009–2013.
2014 to 2025: Boom! Box
From 2014 to 2025 the Tri Glide® Ultra ran Boom! Box (6.5GT early, GTS from 2019), and its fairing and speaker positions stayed the same, so one parts list largely covers twelve model years. The 2023–2025 Road Glide® 3 belongs here too, with two fairing speakers and no factory rear speaker position. See Harley Trike Audio 2014–2025, or start from the part you're upgrading: head units, speakers, amplifiers or a complete kit.
2026 and newer: Skyline OS
The redesigned Road Glide® 3, the Street Glide® 3 Limited and the CVO™ Street Glide 3 Limited all run Skyline OS with A2B digital audio. The Road Glide 3 has two 5.25 inch fairing speakers, the Street Glide 3 Limited has four 6.5 inch speakers across the fairing and Tour-Pak, and the CVO Street Glide 3 Limited has six 6.5 inch speakers. A conventional line output converter cannot attach to a digital bus, so an amplified build reaches these bikes through a compatible A2B interface. See Harley Trike Audio 2026+.
FAQ
Is a trike the same as a two-wheel Touring bike for audio?
No. There are no saddlebag speaker positions on a Harley trike, so the speaker positions differ from a two-wheel bike. We keep the amplifier in the fairing where possible, and a bigger system may need another location, which we plan around your build. Confirm your exact model and year before choosing.
Does my 2024 or 2025 Tri Glide use Skyline OS?
No. The Tri Glide Ultra stayed on Boom! Box through 2025 (GTS from 2019) and was discontinued for 2026, so it never received Skyline OS. It does not need an A2B interface, and 2024+ two-wheel parts are not a match for it.
Does a Road Glide 3 need an A2B interface?
Only from 2026. The 2023–2025 Road Glide 3 uses Boom! Box GTS and integrates as a Boom! Box bike. The 2026 Road Glide 3 moved to Skyline OS and needs a compatible A2B interface for an amplified build. Confirm the year.
How do I know what fits my trike?
Tell us your exact model, year, factory radio and current audio, and we'll match the right front, rear or interface solution. You can also use the System Builder, which works it out from your model and year.
