Street Glide (2014-2023)

Audio upgrades confirmed compatible with the 2014–2023 Street Glide — including Street Glide Special, ST and CVO variants running Boom! Box GTS. This generation marked a significant audio architecture change: the Boom! Box GTS outputs analogue speaker-level signal from a more sophisticated head unit platform, and the fairing was redesigned to accept 6.5" drivers in both front positions and 6×9" drivers in the saddlebag lid.

The Street Glide's batwing fairing carries the two 6.5" front positions — left and right — with saddlebag lids adding a further pair of 6×9" positions when fitted with aftermarket lids with speaker cutouts. Amplifier connection uses the Boom! Box GTS speaker-level outputs via a high-level input harness or a SaddleTramp plug-in solution. The signal chain is clean and well suited to a four-channel Class-D amplifier driving all four positions.

The 2014–2023 Street Glide is the most common Harley audio upgrade platform MAA works with. If you're starting a build on this bike and want to map out the full system before committing to parts, call us. Ships Australia-wide and to New Zealand.

Street Glide Audio — 2014–2023 Batwing Platform

The 2014 redesign brought Harley's Boom! Box infotainment and a shared batwing fairing platform that runs across Street Glide, Street Glide Special, Street Glide ST and CVO Street Glide variants through to 2023. This generation has more aftermarket support, better factory integration and a wider range of confirmed-compatible upgrade options than the classic platform.

Factory Audio on This Platform

Standard 2014–2023 Street Glides run two 6.5" fairing speakers powered through the Boom! Box head unit. Factory output is respectable at low speed but remains underpowered for serious highway riding. At 110 km/h on an open Australian road — or on a long New Zealand touring run — you'll be at maximum volume and still fighting road and wind noise.

Common Upgrades

Speaker upgrade: The 6.5" fairing position is where most riders start. High-efficiency coaxials, horn-loaded replacements or a component system with dedicated tweeter mounting all deliver meaningful gains in clarity and highway output.

Amplifier addition: Adding a dedicated amp unlocks the full potential of upgraded speakers and removes the Boom! Box as the system bottleneck. Plug-and-play harness kits make amp installation on this generation straightforward.

Head unit replacement: The Boom! Box can be replaced with aftermarket units offering Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, larger screens and better pre-amp output voltage. Handlebar control retention varies by head unit — confirm compatibility for your specific year before ordering.

Complete system: Matched head unit, speaker and amplifier packages give you a confirmed-compatible system with no guesswork on power matching or impedance.

Fitment Notes

This platform uses 6.5" fairing speakers as standard. Handlebar control compatibility (CAN bus vs. analogue) varies between head unit brands and model years — confirm support for your specific year before ordering a replacement head unit. Wiring harnesses are generation-specific; ensure any amp kit includes a 2014–2023 loom.
