Road Glide (2015-2023)

Audio upgrades confirmed compatible with the 2015–2023 Road Glide and Road Glide Special. This generation runs Boom! Box GTS integrated into the shark-nose fairing — the same head unit platform as the 2014–2023 batwing Touring bikes, but in a different fairing configuration. Front speaker position is 5.25" in the shark-nose inner fairing. Saddlebag positions from 2015 accept 6×9" drivers in aftermarket lids with speaker cutouts.

The 2015–2023 Road Glide has a more complex fairing interior than the pre-2015 generation, with more wiring and structure around the head unit position. Amplifier mounting in the fairing is tighter as a result — most Road Glide 2015–2023 amp installs go under the seat, in the saddlebag, or in a Tour-Pak if fitted. The speaker positions themselves are unchanged: 5.25" front and 6×9" rear.

If you're building on a 2015–2023 Road Glide and want to discuss amp mounting options specific to the shark-nose fairing before ordering, call us. The Road Glide's fairing architecture is different enough from the batwing that a brief conversation can save installation headaches. Ships Australia-wide and to New Zealand.

Road Glide Audio — 2015–2023 Shark Nose Platform

The 2015 Road Glide returned the iconic frame-mounted shark nose fairing with revised audio positioning — two 6.5" speaker pods in the fairing, improved integration with Boom! Box infotainment and a better foundation for aftermarket audio than the classic platform. This generation runs through 2023 across Road Glide, Road Glide Special, Road Glide ST and CVO Road Glide variants.

Factory Audio on This Platform

Standard 2015–2023 Road Glides run two 6.5" fairing speakers in dual pods, powered through the Boom! Box head unit. Dual pod positioning is a genuine advantage for soundstage width, but factory power remains the primary bottleneck — especially at Australian and New Zealand highway speeds where wind and road noise dominate.

Common Upgrades

Speaker upgrade: The 6.5" dual pod fairing position is the primary upgrade point. Coaxials are the simplest direct-fit upgrade; horn-loaded replacements deliver higher efficiency and better highway-speed projection; component systems allow separate tweeter placement for improved imaging.

Amplifier addition: A dedicated amp is the single highest-impact upgrade after speakers. Plug-and-play harness solutions make this platform one of the more accessible to amplify without cutting factory wiring.

Head unit replacement: Replacing the Boom! Box with an aftermarket unit brings Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, larger touch screens and better pre-amp output. Handlebar control retention depends on the head unit chosen — confirm compatibility for your specific year.

Complete system: Matched systems available covering head unit, speakers and amplification in confirmed-compatible combinations for this platform.

Fitment Notes

The 2015–2023 shark nose fairing uses 6.5" speaker pods. Mounting dimensions differ from the 1998–2013 platform — products are not interchangeable between generations. Boom! Box generation (4.3" vs 6.5" screen) and CVO-specific configurations may affect head unit compatibility. Confirm fitment before ordering.
